Camping and Outdoor Fun
Camping can be a very fun and enriching experience. Camping brings you closer to nature while sometimes still allowing you some of the comforts you can experience right at home. There are many different ways to camp. You can go tent camping, camping in a cabin, or even in an RV. Be prepared is more than just a boy scout motto. You need to try to think ahead of anything that may arise causing a road bump in your camping trip.
Choosing your campsite can be the first major decision you make in your vacation planning. First you will need to choose a camping ground. In modern times this is made much easier on a camping enthusiast because most camp grounds post information about their sites and pictures of their grounds along with activities to engage in and prices. Book popular sites early to avoid being disappointed if they are fully booked on the dates you wished to camp. Think ahead of what attractions you would like to participate in and check the camp grounds for those specific activities or enough room to do them. Try to look into the safety of the site make sure that you are prepared for any dangers that may present themselves. When picking the actual site itself you want to look at the location of the camp site. Is it easy to get in and out of? Does the terrain match the type of camping you are doing? Is it too rocky for your tent? Too many hills? Is the restrooms and water supplies close enough to you for your comfort? Does it create the amount of privacy you want from other campers? Is the sites cheap enough for your budget?
When getting prepared to depart you will want to make sure that you have all the camping supplies and camping gear you will need for your trip. The easiest way to make sure you have everything is to make a checklist well in advance to the camping date. That way if you need to revise or add things to the list as you think of them you have more than enough time to make an adjustment. Make sure you prepare for insects and animals, and that you have all the tools you will need such as a saw and axe. Make sure prepare for all different types of weather. Even if the weather forecast is favorable you can run into a storm. Make sure you have the proper equipment to build a fire, and have clean water. Prepare a list of the meals you would like to have, and how you will prepare them. Make sure you have proper id and any papers you will need such as a rifle permit or passports if camping internationally.
Check the rules of the camp ground before you book it. Sometimes some events you have planned are against the rules of the grounds and you can be kicked out easily in some camping grounds. Make sure they have proper trails and site seeing accommodations. It is an unspoken courtesy between campers that you always should leave the site exactly as you found it. Help keep nature beautiful for the next camper to enjoy.
