Only idiots would feel safe from bears/canines in a tent.

  2. packingone says:

a tent is only for keeping you and your gear from the weather, wind, rain snow and most insects & snakes. It does not and was not intended to keep you safe from agressive animals. It gives people a false sense of security.

  3. Surefire3333 says:

Keeps your tent from being directly on the ground so when your sleeping in a sleeping bag, heat wont be sucked out of the tent from underneath you.

I personally believe in the one firm soccer kick to face would suffice against some nosy coyotes…. call me old fashioned!

  10. ripsyd says:

lol exactly what i was going to say
generally people can make enough noise to scare away coyotes anyways -

  11. AceLockCo says:

LOL, do you really think the fabric of a tent is going to keep coyotes out if they wanted in?

  12. clarkdonna4 says:

What about the very large coyotes that we encountered many times in the adirondacks.
At night when the fire dies down you have nothing between you and them.
I believe a real tent would be best.
    Oh! and a mossberg 500.
