  2. McGuireInK says:

@CheeeezPIC Run the lighter wheel across your leg a couple times (until it sparks) and your good to go :)

  3. thinkslaughter says:

@CheeeezPIC yea they take a few minutes to dry out, but i think i could still get my lighter dry and operational before i got a fire going with a flint. Personally i carry BOTH lighter and flint to the field…but ive only ever had to use my flint when i wanted to test my skill at it, a lighter is nice, small and it adds no weight to throw one or two in your pack..i carry one in my pocket and i have one or two thrown into every grab bag and bugout kit i have.

@techraven2 i have an uncle david. but sadly he isnt this cool :(

  5. CheeeezPIC says:

@thinkslaughter But lighters dont work when they get wet.

  6. thinkslaughter says:

@CheeeezPIC i think id rather have a lighter any day…

i think a lot of adults are stupid and need to be as smart as that boy

  12. chitown1966 says:

thanks for making these videos, even after spending over 20 yrs in the Military I keep learning more about the skills you offer.

  13. susieclues says:

I appreciate you making these videos. Sometimes kids will watch and learn better from a video and then have it reinforced by the parent when practicing the skill. I am taking my 12 year old out camping and I will be having her watch your camping with kids!

  14. gnarvids says:

    @CheeeezPIC i wouldn’t do that with a kids kit.

  15. survivalman9 says:

it would be awesome if there could be a video made on what was in the pack that was taken if there was more then what was used

  16. RRFF12345 says:

@wildernessoutfitters ,i agree on that .and a flint striker is not more basic made then a lighter.they both come out of factories.and a lighter works all the time.a flint is not THAT easy.why the hard way when there is an easy way :-)

  17. TheGods1marine says:

    same here
    nothing but red clay

  18. Eissaye says:

Wow, I wish the soil around here was that sandy. Everything here is clay and you practically need a friggin’ pick ax to make a hole

  19. Snowborda4life says:

wow i have started fires in every kind of weather known to man kind but i even learned from this video!! great job dave its gonna be hard to fill u spot when u r gone.

  20. savannafc says:

I think it’s very cool to include a kid in your video. Excellent!

  21. tekknorat says:

Absolutely great job, Dave!!! Every kid should be taught to do that and not just sart fire, but take responsibility for every action that helps himself and others around him.
Would be grat if You’d make more reviews on firepit types, I mean thos T-shaped pits and other kind of fire stacking types. Also firebed would be great.
Big thanks for all these vids. Keep them coming.

  22. darthwelt says:

You’re a great American Dave. Thank you for teaching!

  23. survivalist911 says:

i wish you were my uncle…

  24. littletobykeith says:

great video Dave and in making a fire pit can you use clay in the pit or will that put out the fire

  25. tybo09 says:
