I’m going camping in the woods in 4 days. How am I going to pee without a toilet?

I won’t be able to sterilize a camping potty for multiple used because I won’t have running water. How am I supposed to squat against a tree, bush, etc. and relieve myself without making a mess? Please give detailed explanations and be serious or you will be reported!
Sorry, I made a typo: uses, not used
C-Ann B, I know that you may think that I am a guy. It may say that on my Y! profile because I created this account about one month ago and got a sex change shortly after, I just forgot to change sex on Y!

—– you are a guy when you done piss shake your dick and that is good enough.

Just bring a milk jug or something to pee in. I don’t see why you need to sterilize it though. You are only going to use it for peeing.

No offense, but are you from New York City? Just go and be done with it…after all, it’s camping!

Generally when I have to go in the woods I find a nice spot and just go on the ground try not to pee in the wind as this may cause you to pee on yourself. If you are concerned about sterilization bring a bottle a hand sanitizer with you and use that when you are done.

Have you ever been camping or out in the woods before? I would prefer the out doors versus public restrooms. Public restrooms are disgusting. Relieving yourself outdoors is some of the good stuff about camping in the great outdoors.

OK..Sex change huh.Forget the bottle then and go with the portable camping toilet suggestion below. .Your only other option is to buy a portable campers toilet that is on a stand and the waste drops into a plastic bag for disposal after you are finished..They come with extra bags and cost about $20 in any camping supply store. You can use a blanket for cover up if you are shy…..

if ur going camping camping where there arn’t any roads to your camp ground have u have to hike out there where ur all alone with no area’s that are cleared out to camp then use a tree to pee and bring those protable toilets at sportschalet or summthing…if your going camping where its with a campground and the tree’s are cleared out for camping and there are roads and stuff, then there are usually bathrooms arround..some actually have running water..most don’t

bring a roll or two of toilet paper
and if you are camping with a group,
go out really really far out into the woods
and take off you pants and underwear, socks and shoes, basically anything on your lower half
put them a five feet or more away from you
    and then squat and pee
use as much toilet paper as you need
    youre probably gonna splash some
then once you feel clean, put your clothes back on
    and head back to camp
    same goes for pooping
but you might just wtanna sit on a log with your
butt hanging over and do it
at least then itd be a little out of the way

and you might wanna bring some kind of wipes, like pampers or something
you might get a little sticky and will want a way to clean up if you dont have running water =]

I hope this is in time – no pun intended. ANY natural water source in your camp area, get at least 200 feet, (2 football fields), DOWNHILL from it AT A TANGENT. You do not want to contaminate it. Check that the soil you are to dig in is well-drained, or a bit sandy, not full of clay. The first divot with plant life should be set aside and watered to maintain it. Dig a ‘cat hole’ with a small spade or entrenching tool, (used also to make a small channel around your tent to direct rain runoff away from your tent). The cat hole should be around 12-18″ deep, (then use the special toilet paper sold for port-a-potties. It dissolves and poses less contamination to the soil.)- this is my suggestion. Regular toilet paper or other substitues should be burned or isolated in solid plastic bags and PACKED OUT WITH OTHER TRASH. Then cover the hole when done. For a more permanent 4-day latrine, make the same considerations for local water sources. Make the hole a 2-2-1/2 foot trench, about 6″ width. Rectangular pits are easier to straddle or squat over. Rounded at the ends make it easier to put the appearance of the area back. Put some soil over each use to discourage insects and animal disturbance. Not too much, or the latrine will fill too quickly. These are from a guidebook for responsible eco-friendly camping.
