   Step off the dock and onto the boat

   Depends how big the boat is, but usually a few inches or a foot or so. What are you trying to get aboard ? A wheelchair ? A ton of beer ? It’s generally not level with the dock, and can move around slightly, so you may need a derrick (usually fitted to the boat)
