what kind of meals are good to cook over the campfire while camping?

I am going to cook hamburgers, brats, and hotdogs, and maybe a porterhouse steak. What else do you all usually cook over the fire when youre camping?

When I was younger in girl scouts, we wrapped up veggies and meat in aluminum foil and put it over a grate on the fire. It was good!

TIN FOIL MEALS. I survived a whole week on these things. Bring tin foil and veggies, potatoes, sausage, seasonings, anything else you thing would be good. Create a pocket with the tin foild and toss in your favorites. Then throw it in the fire. When they’re a little brown-looking you take them out. Yum.
All the flavors kind of blend together and it’s so good.

i remember in camp that we did somethin out of aluminum foil. u chop potatoes, onions, celery, and hamburger/ sausage up and wrap them in foil. then you cook em over a fire. its really good if u serve with ketchup and other spices

    1. Fresh-water trout

Take a piece of tin foil
    put some butter on it
layer sliced potatoes and onions on the bottom
lay the trout on top add salt and pepper
roll it up and cover it with coals for 30-40 minutes
when you open it squeeze a lemon over it

Note; catch the trout just before cooking
Just gut it and leave the head on its better that way

well, wat we do at camp is something called a “tin foil dinner”. basically, u take a sheet of tin foil, smear some butter on it, then put meat (we usually use hamburger), vegetables, and seasoning. then u close it up all the way, and stick it in the fire/coals until u think the meat is done. then u take it out, put a little more seasoning on it, and eat it. they’re really good and worthwile.

Chili. stew, chicken and rice, or can start with what ever kind of meat you got and just start putting every thing you got in it and make sure you make it good and hot with pepper sauce and seasoning make a pot of rice and fry up some corn fritters and your set. Good luck and God bless. And ENJOY your camping trip.

I use dutch ovens and make coblers. stew, bread, cassaroles, pies, cakes, just a whole bunch of stuff.

I like cooking corn on the cob, potatoes and hobo dinners in a fire using foil.

anything you can cook at home, can be cooked at camp, it is what do you want to cook. have a nice day

With some practice and the right pots and pans, you can cook anything you’d cook indoors over a fire. You can use a griddle for most breakfast items, a Dutch oven for baking and frying, and a skillet for anything else. My favorite meals while camping are tacos, breakfast burritos, chili, and chicken wings.

The nice thing about tacos and breakfast burritos is that you can cook them using only one pan and everyone can eat from the tortilla shells without any dishes or utensils (this makes for a quick cleanup).

Chili is another one-pan meal, and there’s little better after a day in the woods than taking a big scoop of chili out of the Dutch oven, putting it on some Fritos, and covering it with shredded cheese.

To make chicken wings, you heat up the oil in a Dutch oven and then add the wings. While they’re cooking, you can use your skillet to melt the hot sauce and butter. Once the chicken is cooked, you toss it in the wing sauce and enjoy.

    …. now I’m hungry… :)
