Where is the best place to purchase portable camping grills?

I love to BBQ and we are planning a family camping trip. I want a small portable camping grill. I know, I know, cook over the fire, and we will, but I also want to cook on a grill too. The trip is 5 days. Thanks for your suggestions!

Car camping or backpacking? REI and Campmor are good companies. Any local outfitter should carry these as well.

Cooking over a fire can be difficult, and you still need some kind of metal grate to go over the coals. If you’re family camping, you might as well bring a grill. Then you can choose to use the grill or just take out the grate and cook over the fire. Unless you get one of those Coleman Road Trip grills, then the grate doesn’t work well over a fire (but other than that, they are nice but expensive units).
It all depends on how much weight you want to carry. You can get a flat folding camp grate that you can put a wood fire or charcoal fire under. You can grill on it like a BBQ or cook on it with pots and pans. Wal-mart, Target,Sears, any of the outdoor stores, Bass Pro, Cabelas for under $10 and with a little care will last a lifetime. You can get a cheap steel grill about14″ diameter with removable tripod legs @ Walgreen’s or Jewel for$5-$10. I bought one over 30 years ago ($2.99) figuring I would use it a couple of times and throw it out. Still have it and use it every camping trip at least to grill the steaks on. If you want to go elaborate and aren’t back packing you could get a Weber Smoky Joe for around $50.
I would purchase something online with free shipping. Maybe take adavantage of the Bing cash back program while it still exists.
I agree, I like to buy most everything online and then have it delivered for free. But I don’t really live near anything so it is kind of a hassle to go shopping for stuff – plus the selection is greater and the prices are lower.
I did a quick search and this is where I would start if I were looking for portable camping grills.
