it does both. People who were looking for a reason to stop believing just found it and those who feel they were being tested just got closer to their faith.
Whoever followed Camping – I suspect – did not have a very strong faith of their own and surely not a strong relationship with the Lord. Because if they had, they would have known by themselves that he was wrong.
It has just brought me much closer. You cannot predict the end times. Only God knows. He is above & beyond time so Camping can put a sock in it. Many Christians believe the end times will occur before 2050 but I hope not because that means I will probably still be here.

only a person that reads the Book can do it

Religion is not that easy to eliminate from the life of most people…
Should just make people question those that teach the faith, not what the faith truly is. Just as pedophile priests should not turn you away from God. God and the church are two separate things. Any can {and do} say they speak for God but none do. Kind of like if you work for a big company an have a##holes that run the place. Don’t hate the company, just dislike those who run it.
Only by accepting responsibility for our own lives, and this includes everyone else doing the same, can we optimally change them.

Truly as Christ said the Whole World has Been deceived By Satan Not just Part of it, Satan has and continues to meticulously attack infiltrate and spread False doctrines within all Groups/Churches/Meetings, all it ever takes is for One willing Person within any Group to start this process this is why REAL Salvation Occurs on a one to one Basis with Christ, Salvation is a process Not an instant rebirth at the acceptance of the name of and truth of Jesus Christ, as so many Ministers today Teach, and this Process is very incomplete in Most cases unto death of Christians this is Why they shall sleep and await the Rebirth, I bear No personal malice against Camping though he has caused damage with his False prophesy and it shall cost him the answer to how much will it cost is Not for any of us to say but I would not want to swap places!!!.
Camping has decided he made a mistake and has changed the date to Oct 21. But He will be wrong then also. It never phased me. Because I believe in the word of God and not some man. This has been going on since time began. Just read Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark 13 that is the truth the word of God.
