organizing party need help?
I go to university and I have all the friend from university, with my brother help i am organizing a part at our farmhouse. there are more then 200 people are coming. he invite lots of student from his school. My question is that is legal to have party with adult and minor both.
People gonna bring their own alcohol, I am non-alcoholic.
What are things i have to be care full.
there is a pool, two houses, and big loan . most of them are staying there over the nite.
they are gonna bring their camp to stay over the night.
I am 24, the people i hangout with they are between 19-25
My brother is 17 – he hang out with 17-19
What are the things I have to careful, case my parents are not there, I don’t want any trouble.
Personally I would check ID’s and use wrist bands, hand stamps, or sharpie markers to designate 21 or older. If you catch anyone underage drinking, throw them out. If the cops cacth them you could be held liable. At least if you’re marking people you can say you made an attempt to stop underage drinking. Also if anyone drinks and drives away, it could come back on you as well. You may want to collect keys and hand them back once you are sure a person is alright to drive. It’s a pain but may save future headache. Another option is to just have a sign-in sheet that says something like “If I am underage I will not consume alcohol, and I will not hold the host responsible for any damage as a result of my drinking” or something to that effect.
