Poll: Would it be fair to you if the olympic-style drug testing be done RIGHT AFTER the Pac-Floyd fight?

Ok, what people miss here is that the Pacquiao camp is not completely dismissing the idea of an olympic-style drug test (only the blood test part actually), they just don’t like the time which is 30 days before the fight. It will interfere with the training program of Manny. Now you might say that it will affect Floyd too, but it is Manny who needs to retain and gain power in their match. Furthermore, when Pacquiao had his blood taken before the Morales fight, he lost that night. You can’t blame Manny if he thinks that taking blood before a fight affects his performance, superstition or not.

So would it be fair to you if the drug testing is done right after the fight? This will prove if Manny is juicing up, which is just a complete baseless accusation in the first place, and at the same time not interfere with the training program. They can make a corresponding penalty if Manny (or Floyd) is proven to be juiced up, win or lose.

Of course, I understand if you will not be in favor of this idea as well, because Floyd (or Manny) might claim he doesn’t want to get beat up first before knowing that his opponent is on steroids. But this seems to be the fairest possible demand, as it will not affect the training camp whatsoever. Take note, this kind of testing is not a standard practice in professional boxing, and if the Pacquiao camp does this, it is simply because they adhered to the demands of the Mayweather camp.

Your thoughts?
P.S. I am only pertaining to the blood test. All other drug test should still pursue on their normal schedule as usual.
@Jay R
Obviously the vial of blood didn’t cause him to lose, but it could lead to teh “superstition” that it might cause him to lose. And Manny didn’t say anything like that, I and some others just speculated on it. Show respect to the man who has achieved a lot in the sport through his hard work.
@alex
What the hell are you talking about? What bad names? You don’t even know my country and you are doing more than me? And I have a lot of Pinoy friends as well and I believe I am doing well with the Filipinos in this forums so just sHut the f*ck up!

    I agree with you 100%. The Pacquiao camp is not contesting taking a blood test. The issue here is when the test should be done. I think it is perfectly fine to have it AFTER the fight for both fighters.

    Let’s say Floyd was juiced up, if he wins against Manny, they can strip him of his title right there and then. But this will also be applicable to Manny. If he wins, and was found to have some illegal performance drug, he too will be stripped.

    The fight needs to happen. The testing can be done right after.

    Doping is usually done during training. It is this fact that Mayweather is basing his demands on. Experienced dopers, and clever trainers can manipulate what they take to the point that PEDs will not show up the day after a competition. This is unless there is random tests. By the way, I don’t think Manny’s doping, just saying what’s known…

    I’d say a good compromise to show good faith on Mayweather’s part would be to schedule the “random” tests to take place on the days Manny does not train so as not to interfere. Say pick 12 days that he’s scheduled to rest, and out of those pick 5 random days to do testing. I hope they work something out.

    I don’t think a vial of blood made Pac lose the fight to Morales. I LOL at that claim, I really hope Manny didn’t let that out of his mouth. What a poor excuse.

    i guess, the real issue here is blood testing (perhaps specifically of HGH substances; and everyithing else that can be found better in blood instead of urine). testing immediately after the fight would clear pacman of the use of such substances within a period of time when these substances are supposed to be effective. but this will always beg the question– was he using such substances at any time (even off season). athletes can use anything during the off season and this would still contribute to the body build (i would not right away say “performance”– that is the hope in using such substances). it would make sense to demand testing within the thirdy days before the fight.

    blood testing during training is intrusive for pacquiao (for whatever reason)– i’d agree with what arum is doing and say- “to hell” with the mayweathers and schaefer. pacquiao could fight someone else and they could continue with whatever rumor they want to spread. this is nonsense from the mayweathers. fans believe anything they want to believe anyway.

    let’s wait for january and see what happens.
