What are some things to take while going camping? I’m going to Belleplain State Forest in NJ on April 16, 2009?

I’m coming back on April 18, 2009. Its my family, and two other families. I want to know what to take, according to the weather. I’m saying in a cabin, though, so no tents. We are going hiking, and will go star watching/birding, too. Thanks in Advance!
P.S. What are some things to keep in a small First-Aid kit, one thatcan fit into a back pack? I might have to use it during Hiking or so.

You’ll defnitely want to layer your clothes this time of year since you won’t know if it’ll be sunny, rainy and/or cold. Dont’ forget a pair of jeans and some thick sox.
First aid kit is definitely a top 3 item. Keep basics like aspirine, bandaids, bacitracine (sp?), but keep stuff like bandages, bandage tape and don’t forget those glue sticks to close up deep cuts.
Of course a lighter or waterproof matches, laterns or flashlights, and a good pocket knife (not the tiny ones, but about 6″ open).
One other thing…if it looks like it’s going to be a little wet, see if the camp ground sells firewood or prepare to bring some yourself.
Other than that enjoy! Have fun.
