What is the whole process of going from high school to becoming a full-fledged 11b Infantryman?

What will I go through and in what order. Anything from tests I have to take, boot camp, training, anything that I’ll have to do and when I’ll do it.

Note: I will be attending Airborne School and Ranger School. Also include that.

  1. Justin says:

    1. graduate with diploma
    2. make sure you have drivers license or id card, social security card, original birth certificate, and high school diploma
    3. go to your nearest recruiting station
    4. take ASVAB test
    5. go to MEPS, this is where youll get a full physical, blood tests and all that good stuf, long boring day
    6. at MEPS choose your job which you already said you wanted 11 Bravo, sign on the line
    7. wait however long it says on your contract until your leave date for BCT (basic combat training)
    8. in between MEPS and BCT training, youll be doing things like, future soldier training, recruiting, setting up your AKO (army knowledge online) account, setting up your direct deposit account
    9. probably go to Ft. Benning down in GA.
    10. i think its like 12 weeks?, anyone correct me if im wrong?…then you might get some leave inbetween BCT and AIT (andvanced individual training), the pace is alot more bearable
    11. right before the end of AIT youll know where youll be posted. and you can start the other two training schools you mentioned
    12. Your a full fledged infantryman!!

I hope you follow through with it, its very rewarding, not like anything you can do outside the military, and people will be proud of you, most of America will be proud of you!!!! GOOD LUCK BRO!!!!
