What things should I bring to horse camp for free time?
So I’m leaving for an overnight, one week horse camp on Sunday. I’m getting really excited because I’m going with my friend, although it sounds like a beginner camp and I’m an intermediate rider. Sadly, you’re not allowed to bring your own horse or pony.
Anyway, I need fun things to do during our free time. Last year, the camp I went to (wasn’t horse camp but the same camp), had lots of free time. The first day I’ll be unpacking during that time, but what should I do the rest of the days?!
We’re not allowed to bring cell phones or iPods, though I like to have my cell phone (off, of course!) just in case of a serious emergency. Or food.
So, I’m bringing Horse-Opoly, a card game called Sleeping Queens, and a normal deck of cards. I was wondering if you had any other ideas of what to do during free time. Oh, by the way, I’m 14.
Thank you! ![]()
Well, I’m already bringing swimsuits, but we have assigned swim time for our group. I need things to do when we’re stuck in our “camp area”.

Oh my god. I loved horse camp.
swim suit. and swim.
Here’s what I always brought-
Pictures to share
LOTS of board games
Books
Magazines
-books and magazines
-board games
-if you like to I guess nail polish (that might be a bad idea)
-Cd’s if there is a radio
-you can always talk with friends
Sorry if this doesn’t help, I wouldn’t think there would be that much free time… anyways have fun!(:
How about a good book? That can never go wrong
Do you have any string? You could make some friend ship bracelets.
Your probably not aloud to have magazines, but if you are.. maybe bring some of those?
Paper and pencils. Sometimes I find it fun during free time to draw something around me like a tree or one of the tents.
Do you like messing with your hair? If so, why not bring along some hair ties and play with your hair. Who knows, you may even want to try and braid your hair like you do your horses!
Hope I helped some
Books are always good! There are some good ones and if ur into chick flick books Kate Brian is a really good author. I would also recommend Rhymes with Witches (super good but I forgot who it’s by) but otherwise have fun at camp!
Make sure to bring a good book or two. I did that for when I went to camp (both horse camp and non-horse camp).
Also I would bring different colored string/thread. You can make bracelets or necklaces with them (look up different designs online, I learned mine our of a fun travel thing) and you will most likely spend a lot of time on them, plus others will enjoy it too.
Always bring a regular deck of cards, you will find something to play lol.
