What a lunatic. Totally illegal/dangerous set up – bet this guy lives in a rental – screws right thru the roof and ruins the integrity of the roof – and the hold down system is absurdly flimsy – hopefully those panels fly off and slice this idiot’s head off – but as usually happens, it will hurt someone else – bet on it. And the wiring! Oh my! Dude, Rube Goldberg would be proud…

IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA YOU GET A REBATE FOR SOLAR PANELS.. I COULD BE WRONG..

I invented a breakthrough source of energy which violates the law of conservation of energy. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which violate the law of energy conservation. Making a 6 kW generator will cost $1200 in mass production, value of energy produced yearly $5400.
I am looking for $300 000 for a prototype and $3M for patents.

Solar cells shoved on “X-ray solar cell – baterie słoneczne” can have any shape because of method of production. Until now it works with x-rays but we are working for extending electromagnetic wavelength. Production of them is extremely cheap.

shouldn’t the two wires be a bit thicker

Everyone is a hater. Good on ya for your project. You don’t need me to point anything out cause everyone else already has. I’m sure you have been told many times about the safety issues. I’m just now starting on my solar project for my home (Grid Tie). Thanks for the insight.

Are you aware that putting a battery on concrete discharges your battery? Also are you aware that using different batteries of different loads will ruin your batteries? What will happen is the more powerful batteries will try to equalize with the weaker batteries and will overcharge them beyond their capacity. Just my 2 cents…

Thanks, but don’t you think its too expencive for charging a laptob or turning some lights ?

wow he thinks ac means actual current

What do you think about the “Costco” new Sunforce 246 Watt
Solar Power Back Up Kit with Sharp® Solar Modules
30 Amp Digital Charge Controller and 200 Watt Inverter
    Item # 253506 (retail price @ $1,399.99) … is that good a buy ???

  14. donvee2000 says:

Correct me if Im wrong, but It appears you have different Amp hr rated batteries connected. This is not advisable. Its also not advisable to connect older batteries to newer ones, or different Ahr rated batteries to one another. This imbalance could shorten your batteries life spans, especially the newer batteries. Check the Xantrex web site. They are the top experts in this area.

Nice demo, could use some improvements but it seems you already made them. Thanks for the video!

Roof Wire of Solar is too Dangeral ,Batery Suit be more safety place interior or exterior but need safety box to install them . the inverter and controler need in the safety box or inerior safety place incase thunder or stom will get burn and fire your house or sort need more tity up wire and important in earth wire for batery and solar panrl on roof and inverter all of therm need earth wire to be safety .thank you .International scouting

Excellent demo. Initiatives like this are required in order to combat challenges posed by climate change. People across the globe are investing in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and geothermal power among others. According to a report, The US could net 4.5 million new jobs in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors by 2030. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has articles related to the renewable energy sector, read them on their website

You have some cheap converters, over here they are so expensive they wil terminate any project.

Enjoy your rain and wind ruining all of that. especially wind, that looks like it would blow off if there was a hurricane ON MARS…. seriously what happens when a panel falls off and smashes to pieces. Sure, energy-wise you’d get a return in 2 years, but will that setup SURVIVE 2 years? I seriously doubt it.

  22. TheDigitalguyy says:

i wouldnt leave thos batteries outside….

  23. taztaz79 says:

some comments about your setup.. You could (if possible in your area) connect all your solar panels to a grid-tie inverter instead. That way you output ALL generated energy to a much bigger “battery” .. the grid! ;) Then you don’t need expensive batteries.. I power my laptop with a 12v car adapter, saving some power. Your 700w inverter takes power without any loads connected to it. The bigger inverther the more it uses when its on, without load. So choose inverter to your load.. thx!

  24. jtb995 says:

wait but arent all those batteries bad for the environment?

  25. ikickss says:

As another poster has already pointed out, the lead acid batteries should be vented. I would move the inverter right next to the charge controller. With the inverter inside the same box with the lead acid batteries, current setup is an explosion just waiting to happen.
