   How is it bad? Another word for space solar power is ‘sunlight’.

   This has more to do with economics than astronomy.
   look into articles about the cost, also for older panels you might be able to find something saying that the enviromental harm from the production is greater than the benefit.
   I’m not doing your homework for you.

   I don’t have an article in mind, but I know that one of the dangers is transmitting the energy back down to earth. That would be done using a focused beam of microwaves, which could potentially fry a lot of people and/or countryside if the alignment were to somehow stray off-target with the collector.

   Well, the only form *that I know of* is the idea of using satellites with huge solar collectors, that would then transmit the power via microwaves to a receiver on Earth. While we are obtaining virtually free energy, you’re essentially heating up the Earth’s atmosphere through the microwave energy being transmitted.
