China reduces solar power costs with large-scale manufacturing

Over the past decade, China has become the world’s leading manufacturer of solar energy technologies; China’s solar manufacturers have helped drive down the cost of solar power around the world with their large-scale production facilities and solar panel exports. In October, ClimateWorks traveled to China to get a sense of the scale of China’s solar manufacturing efforts and talk to some local experts about China’s goals for dramatically scaling up its domestic deployment of solar energy technologies.

NO! Solar is hardly sustainable without government subsidies. That means that our tax dollars are going to pay the manufacturing, shipping and distribution of these solar panels. America needs manufacturing AND installations to be a global leader in Solar. Afterall, US tax payers should rather be paying for renewable energy leadership rather than depletion of manufacturing capabilities.

solar is expensive here because cost is artificually kept high. Companies the produce the panels need to make pricing plans in payments like so many other companies do to make their product affordable. People already pay $ 300 a month for their electricity and heat/air conditioning for example. So price it in payments of $300 for 10 years and after its paid you have free energy. While your at it plug in your electric car. Electric cars would take off simotaneously with solar.

@ddnguyen278 yea i hope the cost get low… they say about this ink came that will low the cost more they make paper type of solar sheets but god know i seen no where hope cost get low so we all can buy i love to be green but it looks like to be green u have to be rich ….

@tomyloveu Cost is reducing for wholesaler, the consumer still pays premium until there is more competition, which is what will reduce cost for the consumer.

Bush shows lots of evidence before invade Iraq. All the World knows now this is the biggest lie done by Bush and international community need to bear it rest of their life.
Iran invade is vital for USA’s multi-billion dollar weapon business and Oil trade by US Dollar by force. China will loss economy in long run because USA will not give China a drop of Iranian Oil after invading Iran. Its all about Business of trillion Dollar and gear up US economy by doing another profitable WAR.
