Disney World resorts and in-room refrigerators?
ByWe have always done Disney in our RV or in the moderate resort level, so we have never stayed at any of the Value resorts before. With the room-only discount we are considering going to Disney and doing a Value resort because of the huge price savings (about $600 for 7 nights). I know that fridges can be requested for an extra charge, but aren’t guaranteed at the Value resorts.
If a fridge is requested for the middle of May (relatively uncrowded) is it pretty much a guarantee you will get it?

Like they said they cant guarantee anything but you will probably be able to get one. Just request one asap.

If you can’t get a fridge or think you might not get one bring a med. size cooler with and pack it with ice. If you go to the disney moms panel they would probably know better about the chances of you getting your request. Good luck and have a great time in Disney!

I asked the same question of a travel agent a couple of days ago as I also am thinking about staying at a Value resort in May. I was told that the refrigerators are limited so you must request it at the time of reservation and then inquire again upon check in. Unfortunately, it is not a sure thing that you will get it.

Reservations and special requests are sent to the Disney property ten days prior to your check-in. Make your request at the time of your reservation, then call the property directly ten days before your check-in and ask to speak to the person in charge of room assignments. It’s still not guaranteed, but you have a better chance talking directly to the property. We visit every year and all my requests have been met (including a free room upgrade) using this method.

i would say that you would definitely be able to get a fridge. any time i have stayed at a value resort even at the busiest time of the entire year (xmas-nye) i have always been able to get one when i wanted one whether i requested it prior to going or at check in.
