I don’t know. But I am considering retro-fitting my house for passive solar. I am thinking of installing a skylight and putting a slate or brick floor under it for thermal mass. Also might build a trombe wall and put upper and lower vents in it to bring heat into my back room. I have already installed rain barrels and they do a fine job of collecting rainwater for watering my garden. Since I can’t afford to build a house, I am looking at ways to make my existing house more energy efficient. I would like to either get a tankless hot water heater or check into making a solar unit, but it will be awhile before I get to that. You might find there are some ways to adapt your current home to take advantage of passive solar, too!
    Good luck with your project!

If you are looking for information on a small, economical system…I suggest you take a look at this interesting website…http://www.otherpower.com/wardsolar.html
You can gage whether this $700 system is too light or if it may work for your lifestyle. You can enhance it from there.
