You want a solar powered fan to work at night..hmm.. well… There are fans sold as greenhouse fans that turn on and off based on temperature. You just have to get some batteries in the mix so that it charges a battery during the day and then works at night..
Now if “solar powered electric power fan” means that the fan works an electricity and then it turns on and off only at night, then get one of those plugs for Christmas lights that you can set to turn on only after dusk and just plug in the fan into that.
If you have any breeze at all, I would suggest some of those turban vents that turn in the wind. Those will work day and night, no electricity required.
If you don’t have breeze, I would say just get a regular gable fan or other other attic fan, and wire it with a switch that you turn on when you want. A fan doesn’t draw that much power.
You could also add grid-tied solar electric to your house, if it turns out to be a good deal. That would be completely independent of what you do with fans.
Find out from the chamber of commence or a solar co. about adding solar panels to your house & excess Power goes back to co. & U get $! I know they have it in NJ! Then put fan on switch. OR get an old solar panel from the top of a Golf cart that self charges battery’s & hook up a 12volt fan on switch! OH YA! SALVAGE!
Yes, you can add a Solar Controller. It will allow you to plug your solar attic fan into electric power and automatically kicks on when the sun goes down.

Yes, it would have to be attached to a battery unless you live in Alaska.
