Nice Setup
Good Job Bro But Do Not Put Inside the Garage .and Also Inverter and Batery Must Far away 1.2 Meter Because Blow Up Or Fire and Chemical If Fully Charge The Batery Very *** DANGER *** .From International Scounting
You asked for suggestions. There may be significant loss between panels and shed. Consider building a ‘doghouse’ at the panel array to house the batteries and inverter. Then, cable your AC from there. Cleaning up all wiring would be a good idea too, including using good, solid clamps at all low voltage splices. Fuses where appropriate would be good too. Good to use exact-same batteries in bank too (same age too). Great assembly of hardware; just needs spiffing-up. Enjoyed video.
Your a speggheti wire-er!
Check my comments for information about the Pre-January 8th dvds of Inception.
@TheTalkingHandShow . your comment on the stand alone solar system is a home run. What a mess.
No offence. But this looks a accident waiting to happen. Electricity kills. You only get one shot at it because your dead right after.
Nice setup! I have a small setup going and I am always tinkering with it seeing what I can run with it. It is a very addicting habit but its so fun at the same time.
Really nice setup, I am really impressed, you definitely know your stuff. I enjoyed watching this video
i like it good for you
@donarandona….. Be specific on what you see as code violations… I will correct it…….
this is the exat reason there are building codes…
I am adding stuff all the time. GOOGLE.. 250 watt small grid tie inverter, by sun. I got it on e-bay for $139.00
You hook it up straight to the panel output and plug it into an outlet. . It puts ac back in to the house.. I havent generated enough yet to make the meter go backward, but Im close.
I also am adding a 125 watt panel. Ill make another video and post it.
My goal is to get the Deep-Freeze and the upstairs lights off the grid with a transfer switch so I can bring things back on line with utility power if needed.
I have been considering running 24VDC instead of 12VDC but haven’t made up my mind quite yet.
How do you like the pure sine-wave? I know with my modified-sine wave it seems like the electric motors like fans aren’t quite as happy. They seem to “hum” a bit more.
We get blackouts to test with about once a month where we are at.
Wow, looks good. You’re a bit ahead of mine. I have some small ones up mainly for the deep-cycle and ham radio but my wife is talking about moving so it put the project on hold. I was going to a hybrid with low-speed wind and HarborF panels.
I also picked up those big metal filing cabinets with drawers to put the DeepCycles in and maybe the even the inverter.
I wanna do as much as I can to EMP and lightning proof the system.
James,
Virtually silent!
When the fan comes on it does have “fan” sound, but no fan is completely silent. Thermostat controlled. Its a Pure sine wave Inverter. I have not had the least problem at all with it.
Just out curious, how loud is the inverter when it’s running? Thinking of putting one in a utility room in the house, but it’s off the bedroom and I’m not sure how much noise the inverter will make…
Hey I am a niovice also. its a great hobby and it saves us money.your system and your video look great.I also have some HF 15w panels 9 I think and one 80w sharp and 2 homemade panels check out my videos if you get time maybe they will spark some ideas for you .keep us updated TAKE CARE
