    a severed propane line, maybe

Some RV refrigerators use propane to function as a refrigerant, therefore there is no electrical draw. If there is a propane leak, and a heat source hot enough for ignition, you will get that sort of fire until the propane in the supply line is consumed.
    Be careful.

There is oil mixed in with the refrigerant. It’s used to lubricate the compressor and could burn.
