I brought my car to a repair shop because it suddenly started to run hot.?

The mechanic told me I needed to replace my motor and transmission. I had them to replace it and paid $4000.00 for the repair. Immediately after driving off in the car I noticed that it was making a growling sound. I brought it back to the mechanic, he said that because he cut me a deal, he had to do without the motor mounts, so thats why I hearing a noise. I then left the repair shop and drove two blocks away. I then noticed smoke coming from the car. I looked under the hood and saw that something was leaking. I brought it back immediately. The mechanic told me that they had just overfilled the coolant and that the smoking would stop. While driving home the car ran hot. which was exactly the reason i brought it to the repair shop in the first place. I had the car towed to the repair shop 7am the next morning. The mechanic is now sawing the the radiator went bad while I had the car, which was less than 24hours. He is trying to charge me for a radiator and radiator repairs now. Can I file a small claim against this company?
no its not a joke.
The mechanic told me I needed a new engine and transmission. He supplied parts and charged me for parts and labor.

Dude, the mechanic’s a moron, look for a trusted known mechanic and go see what he says. Then I don’t know what you could do about the damages to your car

why did you replace the engine and transmission?
    something is missing here ..
what was the problem with the previous engine that you resort to replacing it?

as for the replacement engine your mechanic just recently installed.
who supplied the engine ? you bought the engine and paid the mechanic for installation or the mechanic supplied the engine for you then charge you additional for installation?

if you bought the engine without the quality approval of your chosen mechanic,
the mechanic can not be held liable but it is the mechanics obligation to inspect/check the engine prior to installation. to avoid back job.
some mechanics will not inspect in this scenario so they will have reason to charge you again for installation
honest/professional mechanics will inspect engine prior to installation whether you acquired the engine from them or from your supplier..
matter of decency/respect on his profession.. on the part of mechanics.

the engine installed is either defective or the mechanic is incompetent, or the mechanic intentionally did not worked well with your car so he can charge you again for added services.
or he maybe just another wannabe mechanics

    get a lawyer or police

Go get you car right now, and take it to a dealership to have an inspection. Write a formal letter to the hack who ripped you off, demanding your original parts back, or a receipt for the core trade in from where he bought your new motor and trans. Go to the city court clerk and file a small claim. The dealership should be able to right your car, and tell you what hack did wrong, and document it for your small claims court case. Take a deep breath, and be glad this was a hack posing as a mechanic, and not a doctor…..Thank You
