My AEM cold air intake sucked up water during a huge rain storm, what to do?

Hey guys, well I was driving back from the movies last week in my Acura RSX and my car starting bogging down and stalled. I figured immediately the new Cold Air Intake a had installed that sits below the bumper had to be clogged with wet snow so I removed the snow and drove it home although the check engine light was on. It stalled one more time on the way home and I cleared it again and started it and drove it home. Well today I went to drive it for the first time and it started perfectly and sounded fine only I noticed the motor would bog at 6000 rpm when I tried to rev it high. So I check the motor oil and low and behold the oil looked like milk. So I’m planning on changing the oil immediately and I’m wondering if my car is hydrolocked already. It starts fine and runs fine except when I hit the gas (theres no check engine light on anymore either) but when I try to rev it high it bogs down (doesn’t stall though). It doesn’t make any loud clanking noises. A mechanic said I should be fine if I change the oil and a week from now he will come up and remove the spark plugs and injectors and clean it out. Do you think this is a good option or should I have it towed to a repair shop immediately and let them get to work on it asap. Do you think my engine is ruined from what I describe so far (hydrolock) or do you think it can be fixed since it still runs and there’s no check engine light? Any help is greatly appreciated I’m really stressing out that I may have ruined the motor.

drive it in reverse to expel the water in the engine

I think the mechanic gave you ok advice dont worry so much the only important thing i would advise change the oil, drive normal till he gets ther! be Safe :-)

Put the stock air filter back on. Change the oil, a new set of plugs wouldn’t hurt. After a short time I would change the oil again. If your engine was hydro-locked it wouldn’t turn over because you can’t compress fluid(water). And again, put the stock filter back on! Cold Air crap only makes your car sound fast!

If your car was hydro locked it would not turn over. Your bogging out is prolly your air filter. If its a stock paper filter and it got wet than it is no longer any good. Once they get wet they wont flow the proper amount of air anymore. If its a aftermarket like a k&n than it might be iced up, in this case you can thaw, clean, dry, and re oil it. Check engine light was most likey caused by the lack of air gettin to the engine. As for the milky oil i dont think this would have come from this problem. But the oil needs to be changed immediately. Could be moisture from lots of short trips and not getting warmed up or could be antifreeze gettin into the oil which is very bad. I think pulling the plugs and injectors is a waste of your money if its running fine. Start with the air filter problem and get the oil changed and go from there.

the mass air sensor might have been affected and you might also have to have the check engine codes removed via hanp held computer. try un plugging the mas air sensor if it goes away replace or try the mass air spray cleaner (good luck)

water anywhere in the engine, if it accesses the cylinder prevents compression and provides opportunity for engine failure/damage at any level of operation.
if it were me, i would definitely not drive it, it should be drained-plugs pulled -flushed and fully checked….why would you risk any potential for engine damage?
