Wal Mart Lube and Tire burned my car motor up. Their insurance says they are libiel for the repair only?
BySERIOUS HONEST ANNSWERS PLEASE!
I had turned onto the interstate when all my lights came on and the brakes and power steering were hard to control. I was terrified of because of so many big rigs and traffic. I sat on the side for an hour waiting foor them to get there, and another 2 hours for them to put on an oil filter and pour in the oil, then another 45 minutes or so for the motor to cool so it would crank. The clatter when i started to drive it told me it was burned up, so i immediately took the first exit and went stright to the manager. I am in another city stranded here with a friend i was visiting, but should have been at home last friday. Should I be entitled to more than a new motor? And if so, how do i go about getting the insurance company to cough it up??
sorry, i ommited that I had just left from the lube and oil service center at wal mart..
There was no oil filter, or oil. My motor had only 44 thousand miles on it.

How is it Wal-Marts fault if you broke down on the side of the road?
You broke down because you ran out of oil.
Don’t you keep a good watch on your oil level?

If you feel Walmart caused your motor to burn up but they are denying it, your only recourse is to hire a lawyer and take them to court.

you never told us what service you had performed, im assuming an oil change
but yes you will be entitled to a new engine, and perhaps a payout for emotional distress if youre lucky
never ever ever ever go to walmart for car service, ive seen so many people come to my shop right after being there its a wonder why people still go there

Hell yeah, they need to give you that engine, if they refuse go above their head and make a lawsuit. If you just left and that happened, they must have not tightened something up, so make them pay for it, or make a lawsuit, they know its their fault, they just dont want to pay for it.

They will not put you up in a hotel. All they will do is pay for a new motor. The only way you will get paid for money that you are out of is to sue them. You should be saving every receipt. You should document every conversation you have with Wal-Mart. Take note of the time & the name of the person you talked to.
If your losses aren’t that great, you can sue them in small claims court. If your losses are multiple thousands, you may want to contact a lawyer. Chances are, however, that it will take about a week to repair so your losses should be somewhere between $1,000 & $2,000.

You should re-categorize this question Mame. Go to a category like lawsuits and etc. A mechanic cannot help you with this but tell you what happened to your engine. But if you ask me from the clattering noise and the burning up, you had no oil in your car. It sounds like it’s your fault. Or……. if walmart changed your oil they could have possibly not put the cap back on correctly and your oil just leaked all out. You coulda kept an eye on that

Did you just have the oil and filter changed that day??
A rental vehicle may be in order.
If they have admitted to the error – then question them concerning a rental vehicle until yous is repaired and returned to you.
Obtain the store managers name and call Wal-mart corporate headquarters if necessary – - ASAP..
