Do your kids ever say things and you have no idea where they learned them?

we had pretty bad storms here last night and had some patio furniture blown around. this morning my 3 year old was looking out the back window and out of no where just shook her head and said “March….in like a lion, out like a lamb”…LOL

Where do kids get this stuff? I know I’ve used that phrase before but probably not since last march and I doubt she remembers something from that long ago.

Do your kids ever say or do things and you have no idea where they learned them?

He told me the other day that we had a brachiasaurus in our yard and we all better run…..where did he ever even hear of a brachaisaurus? He doesnt even have dinosaur toys lol.

Then….not even 10 minutes later—a new show called Dino Dan came on and i figure thats where he learned it. He must have been watching it at the sitters.

He also knows all of his shapes even the oval and octagon which impressed me because i have never taught him his shapes. We were at a stop light and he said Wow a red, octagon and ever since then he calls the shape of every object he sees. He will be 3 in may.

Wow that’s pretty funny. My little girl is 4 and she acts like she’s 12 or my mother. A couple months back I was driving with her and we were listening to music, while we waited for the next song, she looked over at me and said with a smile,”Mommy, your my life.” I wanted to laugh because she is so young and I’ve never said that before, even though she is my life.

Or at Wal*Mart the other day she was mad because I didn’t get her some candy since she was acting up. In the car she said,”Mommy!!! Your SO BAD. You know what No Phone, No T.V., No Computer.” I laughed out loud and said calm down MOMMA we don’t even have a computer in the house.
hahaha… ahhh kids say the funniest things

Yeah, especially my 5½ year old. I attribute it to television, grandparents or other relatives, school, books, etc.

all the time, my daughter came home saying ophthalmologist when she was 2 because she overheard the nursery nurse talking about a hospital appointment. she picked up on mannerisms and ways of saying things as well.

LOL that is cute! My son one day said “you suck” to me. I almost cried and then called my husband asking him if he taught my son how to say this. I say dude a lot, so he has picked up on it and says “dude” trying to wink at me.

My 9yo daughter used the phrase “sexist jerk” last night. I have no idea where she heard that one.

    She used it correctly, though.

of course, remember that show? kids say the darnedest things. We were getting ready to go somewhere and my 4 year old stood in front of the house and said out of nowhere ” I feel Funky”

All the time and I assume it’s from his daycare. He is talking about “superman” all the time now and we’ve never seen or even discussed superman with him. So that’s go to be from the daycare.
