Would it be ok for me to place my sectional couch in front of a sliding glass door?

I just moved into a new apartment and I have a dilemma with the furniture placement. I only have three walls to work with, but one of the walls has a sliding glass door that leads to the patio. I have a sectional that will just have to cover up the sliding door. Is there a way I could make it look better? Curtains, perhaps?

no, never ever block and exit of any kind.
read your regulations!
You can, but leave enough space behind the couch so that you have an exit.
Especially living in an apartment. You only have the two exits right?
Front door and the patio?
Get long vertical blinds.
That will look nice.
Or
Just get a topper valance for the top of the sliding door.
It’s not wise to close an exit particularly in an apartment. You have two other walls and you can split up the sectional. There is no law that a sectional has to stay together. Play with the pieces and find a better layout but keep your patio door free of furniture.
Not easy to move! Good luck
