are there any boarding schools in or surrounding oklahoma?
im not the smartest person in the world, and my friend mentioned boarding school. but i thought it was for really smart people. so
question 1: are boarding schools ONLY for smart people?
question 2:are there any boarding schools that are in, or near oklahoma?
questing 3: this may sound dumb, but are there any boarding schools that’s like the one in Looking For Alaska?
before you answer number 3 and say “that is stupid, its not a real boarding school. its just make believe” and all that crap, im looking for a big school, with open area, possably a smoking hole (dont ask why) and thats coed. so pretty much like the camp described in the book.

I don’t know of any in Oklahoma specifically, but there is one I know of in Utah. It’s a therapeutic boarding school, but also caters to students wishing to excel and focus on their own improvement.
Anyways, to answer your questions:
1) Boarding schools are certainly not only for smart people. They can be for troubled teens, or otherwise teens just looking to excel. They approach learning in an entirely different way than public schooling, and there are usually a lot of different types of educational resources available.
2) Again, haven’t really looked into Oklahoma boarding schools, but i wouldn’t doubt it.
3) As far as an open area, the idea of a therapeutic boarding school at Discovery Academy is to get students in touch with something outside of a normal experience. One example is their implementation of teaching their students to work with horses. Many students enjoy this, and it teaches them quite a bit while working with the horses. Of course there are many other things that they use, but this is just one example of something out of the ordinary, and you probably won’t get this at a public school.
