Fort Desoto in Pinellas County on the west coast. Fort Myers
and Naples area. The Everglades off of the Alligator Alley.
Be better if you check the AAA first before you make any plans because things change down here in the summer season.
There is camping in a lot of Florida State Parks, as well as county and national parks, wildernes areas, etc. There are also tons of KOA’s and other RV parks, some of which have ‘tent only’ areas. Disney even has Fort Wilderness, a campground luxurious beyond your wildest dreams.
But you DO NOT want to plan on Forida tent camping in summer. Draw a line from Jackson Miss through Montgomery Ala and on to Savanah Ga; south of that line it is way, way, WAY too hot sleep in a tent at night.
