Area residents keep a watchful eye on the Missouri River The Missouri River has stopped rising in the Kansas City area, the the Army Corps of Engineers says, and should drop slightly in coming days. It was unclear whether water would continue to rise in Missouri City, which is downstream, before dropping. Area river levels are expected to remain high for weeks, however.
