Best Camping spot for first time campers near Vegas.?
so my 4 year old daughter recently decided that she reallllllyyy wanted to go camping (thanks a lot Dora).. anyways I figured it was time to start planning a fun family get away, I’ve been camping as a kid and loved it! but im a little worried since it will only be my daughter and myself and maybe my mom, no man to scare away the big bears, or get the fire started. So i guess my question is there a reasonably priced family friendly camping area anywhere near Mesquite Nevada. Id like to stay fairly close to home so closer than 200 miles id say. I would really like to take my daughter fishing if at all possible. So i guess we are looking for something like this:
*tent camping
* not to far from home
* Close enough to other people in case we needed help
Lil but far enough apart to fell like we are actually camping.
* fishing ![]()
* I guess just a good first time camp spot! if there is such a thing! Ive looked at bryce canyon online but didn’t find a lot of info.

Yes Head up I-15 a bit to Zion NP

Update :
If Zion is too civilized to your liking then you may want o think about using campsites in Dixie National Forest

Anywhere in Southern Utah is great. I personally love Duck Creek Village, it’s about 205 miles from Vegas and worth every mile. There are cabins, campgrounds, fishing (at Panguich Lake) , streams, etc.

First time I would camp at Kyle Canyon at Mt Charleston. There is a town close by, a police/aide station, etc. Otherwise I would go to Zion where I know the Las Vegas Ski Clubs goes.
