Campgrounds in Michigan?
by admin on Monday, November 14th, 2011 | 3 Comments
Me and my boyfriend are looking for a campground in south western michigan. The thing is we dont want an RVcamp, we want the old fashion kind of camping. You know, the ones were you sent out a tent, cook over campfire, surrounded by wilderness with noone else around you, lakes for fishing, and all that fun stuff. Yet I still want there to be a bathroom and shower near by. Is there ANYTHING in south west michigan like that? Anything will be helpful, thanks

HAHA go to the Upper Peninsuala of Michagan if you want that. Yes, we DO have showers and toliets up here
ummm the only place i know is howel nature center.
but your in side a cabin.
but its fun there they have a lake next to some of the labins & you can go fishing.
Added 6/17/08 This website indicates the number of campsites available in each park. There are some with 1 or 2 sites that you might want to check. They might not be in SW michigan (this is 4th of July availability)

There are several campgrounds that allow tent camping, finding one with nobody else around in the summer will be difficult. I’ve been to many State Parks in October and there were few people.
Try this website, I’ve never been to any of the sites.
