Camping at Assateague Island, Maryland?

I’m going camping at Assateague Island in July and I was wondering how it was. Is there a LOT of bugs and is it REALLY hot in the summer? Thanks!

Bring plenty of bug stuff.
I did that once….never again. My buddy counted his bug bites when we got back…well he started to but stopped when he got over 200. We were even getting attacked by bugs while in the ocean. It depends a lot on the specific month too but I can’t remember exactly when it was….sometime between June and August.
