can a convicted sex offender sexual battery live on property very close to a camp ground where kids walk by?
he lives on a lot right by our campground another property but so close he can walk 10ft and be on our property we have small girls and boys that walk close to him when the camp grounds are open we are in Indiana, We were told not by law offiicials that he can live here but has to report his residence . Now this does not seem to ok with us any suggestions on how to get him invicted from here? Very Scary and many campers worried about their Children ,,,,,,,,,,,And we are all so we don’t want his kind here he is 75 male and a weirdo, He did fish here then after we checked sex offenders registry and seen he was convicted and his ugly mug face profile we told him never get on our property again, BUT he sets on his deck and stares a lillte kids when they pass by,
I would say that you should talk to your neighbors (town meeting) about signing a petition and sending it to the mayor. Ask him if he will come to your neighborhood and see how close this pedophile is to your children. Tell the mayor that your neighborhood’s quality of life and mental health are suffering because of the anxiety generated by having a cat in the fish bowl. Tell him you feel like the guy’s looking for the weakest child to prey on and you fear the day he makes a move. Ask him to move the guy into his/her neighborhood so you can get some peace and see what the mayor says about that! And very respectfully mention that if he doesn’t do something about it, you will call in the media. I think that should work.
In the north east there are restrictions on how far a sex offender may live from anyplace children gather, such as a school, playground,etc. sounds like the campground qualifies. Call your local PD and find out what, if any restrictions your state applies then ask how to proceed.
Are you sure he is a child molester? You just say he is a sex offender. You will have to prove he is in violation of his parole. If no violation/restrictions then there is nothing to be done. He is free to live where he wants. I understand your concern but he has to live somewhere. And there is no one place in the world where there are never going to be children walking by.
I say NO, he must GO, I use that campground, its a great place for family and friends. If he comes around my grandkids, he wont be able to walk down to the lake anymore. I will protect me and my own, no matter what so ignorant ACLU backed law says. He is a criminal, and I dont believe criminals should have any rights. They chose their pathes in life, time for us to grow-up or shut-up. Keep them in their places, with other criminals all the time. Thanks.
There is no worldwide law governing where sex offenders may live. Some states have some laws, but not all. If a sex offender is on probation or parole, there may be conditions about where he lives, but the conditions are different for everyone.
No, if it is a park, that is in the laws. But if he did his time, he has paid for his crime. How would you feel if you got convicted for involuntary manslaughter because some bad driver cut in front of you speeding and loss control and you hit him and he died and you did time and no one wanted you to drive again because they feel you will kill them next?
