Can anyone help me find some songs that were in a super old musical about the United States?
When I was younger, my mom had a tape of a musical about these two tour guides leading a bunch of kids around the United States. They had a grumpy bus driver named Mr. Snitch who eventually became their friend, and with each state they traveled through, they sang a song about it.
Anyone know the name of the musical? Or if they have it on iTunes/other MP3?
Some of the opening verses of the songs include:
- 50 States of America (theme)
- New York, New York
- If there’s a place that I want to be, it’s in the hills of Tennessee
- Cali-ya-ya, (cali-ya-ya) cali-cali-uh-uh, (cali-cali-uh-uh), cali-uh-uh, (cali-uh-uh), california…do you like to bury your feet in the sand (I like to eat enchiladas at the taco stand)
- Alaska (alaska) land of the last frontier
There’s also a song about Texas, Hawaii, Colorado, and maybe Montana or something?
If you know what it is, that’d be awesome! haha
