can children stay on base?

My ex and i (never married) are in an ugly custody battle, he want my 4 year old to come stay with him for a couple weeks in texaswherehe will be stationed (i live in iowa). i have told him no. he is a pfc. does he have to be a certain rank or requirements for the military to allow him to have my son stay on base? he has been in military 1 1/2 years(including boot camp). he was hardly around before he left. i am trying to find a way to stop him from being allowed to have him. my laywer said that he can have him in texas if he has appropiate housing (not living in the barracks with other guys). he is in army. if there are websites that state this i would like those links please

Talk to qualified military people about that.

If he has his own place he can but not in barracks it is not allowed. He still has to work unless he takes leave during the visit . Most come home on leave and spend time with family and visit their children then. You know where they are and they are in town easily accessible. A Pfc normally stays in Barracks so if he says he has other housing you should verify by him having a lease. It is also on his LES if he gets money for housing!

Yes they can. Their military id will be extended probably till they are 21. Also you probably will get a sponser’s id so you can take your children to military bases but you won’t be able to buy and thing from the px or commisary.
