Canoeing in MO?

Which river and campsite is the best in Missouri? I want to go in either a raft or a canoe and camp in a tent, but have nearby facilities. Also, we are taking our dog with us. Just me and my bf-no children. Any info would be helpful.

I can tell you from experience these are beautiful rivers. I will recommend that you float during the week to avoid the high numbers of people on the weekends
I think that you would really like Bearcat getaway in Lesterville MO. Bearcat is a campgroung for tent camping and they allow all dogs! You can have them off leash and there is a ton of them running around. They have a Bistro on site which serves an all you can eat dinner on Sat. cost $10 they also have an all you can eat breakfast on Sun. for $7.50. They have a great deal in which you can buy lunch for your float trip for $5.00 comes in a waterproof container has a sandwhich, chips, soda, fruit and a cookie for $5.00 you cannot even make lunch for this! They have canoe rentals for $38 it is a 61/2 mile trip, the black river is a very nice river! If you want a raft….which I do not recomment you can contact Black River Rats they pick up at Bearcat and your float ends on Bearcats beach! Just a short walk from the campsite. They also have live music here every Sat. and they usually have a DJ that plays on Fridays, they have a great stage on the main road when you come in, you can request to be far away from the stage if you would like. The sites are spread out and they have different vendors here depeing on what is going on. They always have an additional food vendor for those late night snacks. They also have very clean restrooms with HOT showers! Yep and they are FREE you do not have to pay for them. They have really cool security and we had a great time the people here are way nice! Also they have a small store on site should you forget something. They have a few festivals that go on throughout the year so check out their website! I think you would have a great time here!
