Just came back from Hammock Highlands at Sebring , Fl bout 2 hours from Sarasota, great place very reasonable under 20 a night. look up fl state parks for locationds and price list for the area you can handle…Also had a great time at Myaka State Park in Sarasota. about 30 min east of 75 off exit 205

Withlacoochee River State Forest is a great place, there is a place that has electricity and water but if you want to hike a bit there are a few locations where they allow tent camping. It`s by Zephyrhills/Dade City.

Green Swamp is also another good primitive camping location, its run by SWFMD (Swiff Mud) and I believe it belongs to the electric company so you have to get the permit through them.

Fort Desoto State Park is one of my favorite beach camping locations in Fl. You camp in the woods and its a 2 minute walk to the beach. They have both car camping sites and primitive sites as well.
