Cheap honeymoon ideas?

My fiancee and I are getting married this summer and we can’t decide on where to go for our honeymoon.
We have spent quite a bit on the wedding so far so we are hoping not so spend much more than $2,000 on the honeymoon.
(We live in Central U.S. if that helps!)
We arnt much for camping or cold climates but the only thing we can find online is Hawaii, ect… and its SO expensive!!
Thanks to those who answer!

Maybe you could try some place
like U.S. Virgin Islands, or something and book a hotel for a week or so. (:
My fiance and I are going to St Louis, because we only live three hours away… other options for us were Chicago, the Dells, and Indianapolis. What big cities are near you? Get online and google things to do in them… we’ve planned ours in St Louis, five nights, food, entertainment… for $1500. And we’ll likely come out under that, because we won’t do everything we plan to do… since we booked two sometimes three things a day.
Best of luck!
Just check what’s out there, about 200-300 miles from your hometown and see what you can find. My fiance and I can’t do a luxurious honeymoon either, so we’re staying local and visiting in a touristy town in our state. We’ve both never been, so it should be great! We’re going to save up for a more elaborate vacation later on.
Maybe find a cute bed and breakfast, or if that’s not your speed, see if you can’t find a big city local to you or maybe both. Just start slow by finding tourist attractions in your state and see what’s local then keep branching out until you reach a happy medium that’s both vacation-y feeling and not bank-breaking.
I would recommend a Caribbean cruise. That would be within your budget and they are a blast. Best wishes!
Try travelzoo they always have good deals on fights and honeymoon locations. Good Luck and congrats.
Have you looked into a cruise? I love them.
I am planning to also go to St Louis or Chicago for our honeymoon. I would just plan a trip of doing what all you wanted to do. Maybe book a nice hotel or bed and breakfast, get a couples massage, horseback ride, canoe, take a road trip. Look for a nice cabin and just enjoy the both of you. Just find what you two love to do and decide to do it. Be creative and wild!!!!!!!!
Hi. I’m from the midwest myself (Chicago western suburbs), and some of my friends did a stay-cation when they got married. They went to places like Door County and Wisconsin Dells but stayed in the finest hotel they could find and put their money into that for a weekend or a full week depending on their budget. You can always do a more expensive romantic vacation the following year or two. It won’t technically be a honeymoon at that point, but you can call it that if you want to. Sounds like a good idea to me.
my hubby of 2months and I went to Cabo San Lucas! AMAZING We stayed at the RIU which is all-inclusive. Meaning you can drink (alcohol), eat, and play for 24 hours without needing your wallet. We went into town twice, once to swim with dolphins and once to go to the market. Seriously could have stayed at the hotel the whole time. And we also got to utilize the hotel next door for free because they were owned by the same people…long story short…flight, hotel, and unlimited drinks and food $1000 a piece!
VEGAS BABY!! thats where me and my fiance are going- we also are getting married in the summer!!!
There are a few options you could go for. You could stay local and avoid air fares, that way you can spend all your money on the hotel. Either go to a very high spec hotel for a few days or a lesser hotel for a week or two.
Alternatively you could research a few venues that have a very low cost of living. That way you will have to pay for the flights and accommodation but the cost of eating out etc. may make it worth while.
Do you have access to budget airlines? If so check out where they fly to and go to one of those destinations. If you book early you should be able to get some very good value flights.
Finally, do you have any friends or family that have holiday homes? If so, speak to them and ask if they would rent them to you for a while. They will normally offer it to you at a below market rent.
I hope these points are of some use.
