Do all screws conduct, or certain types?

The connection is from a battery to the starter of a recreational vehicle.

Yo, I don’t know exactly what your trying to do, but basically, all metals are conducive, some less than others. But basically when it comes down to it, if your looking for something conducive, look towards copper, if your looking for something that doesn’t conduct, your best bet is looking for some kind of insulated screw (like its coated in a plastic material or something).

If it’s a metallic screw, then you should assume it is conductive – as all commonly used metals in RVs will conduct electrons.

“A conductor such as a metal has high conductivity and a low resistivity.”

  3. guru says:

all metal screws conduct heat and electricity
in what you mention only copper should be used
    copper is more conductive
    stainless is a poor conductor

to avoid a fire you should replace the part with the original vendor’s part.
