Do Republicans “SERIOUSLY” think the New York Times Article about John McCain’s TRYST is Unfair & Disgusting?
I have an idea; let’s ask John Kerry and the “SWIFT BOAT VETS” how the feel about it.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm?
But hey Republicans, seriously…
Isn’t it disgusting how once the McCain Affair gets out there -be it true or a pack of “Swift Boat Political Fantasies”, no matter how hard you try to reel in the LIE, there’s no such thing as totally obliterating the McCain Affair, no matter how hard you try to erase it, the image sticks and begins to take on a life of it’s own?
(…and it appears that even Fox News couldn’t resist the topic this Sunday Morning….)
So, playing by the Republican Tactics; I suppose it’s only a matter of time till we see some TV ads from a “phantom group” calling itself, “Vietnam POW Vets for Truth,” claiming that John McCain lied about his treatment in the POW camps and how he was really a traitor to “SOME” of his fellow prisoners….
Hey, just something for GOPers to remember and think about…

Truth is only unfair and disgusting when it paints one of their own in a bad light.
So then you agree its disgusting and unfair.
The swift boaters are like moveon.org.
I expected better from reporters who should be telling the truth not swaying elections.
Also the swift boaters accused Kerry to his FACE, in this article there are no people accusing Senator McCain of anything.
I really don’t understand what having an affair (very personal and between wife, husband and tryster) has to do with running the country.
People have affairs all the time, yet they are able to run their daily lives, their companies or their jobs. Having an affair (or being faithful to your spouse) is not a Bonifide Job Qualification for President of the United States.
do republicans know what fair and just means? I thought that’s what a republican stood for….to do away with the concept of fairness and justice.
I think you are incorrect in your assessment of the situation.
This is not going to dog McCain the same way the Swift Boats dogged Kerry.
This whole thing is a way for McCain to rally the base….which is something he really needs seeing as how many conservatives don’t trust him.
I don’t think you are correctly predicting the political outcome of the New York Times article.
No reasonable person believes the NYT article is NOT Unfair and DISGUSTING.
What is INTERESTING and compelling is:
When Clinton was in the WHITE HOUSE and there was HARD EVIDENCE – and an ACCUSER…
The NYT said “character doesn’t matter…”
Now that 9 FREAKING years ago… with no accuser – with no evidence… The run this story.
And on the SWIFT BOATS?
These were people who SERVED with Kerry. What more accurate an account could there be? From a “brother” in the military.
Republican’s haven’t said it is unfair- the New York Times did today in a press release! LOL! It looks like even NYT insiders are calling the story “Yellow Journalism”!
I’m starting to think almost nobody read the article, but everybody either has an opinion about it, or they are trying to spin the article to their own political ends.
Based on what is being said about the article, that’s the only plausible explanation I have for the reaction… because even if a lot of people have horrible reading comprehension skills, it’s still implausible that they would find the article provoking.
It is ONLY disgusting if it is about them.
McCain has gotten a free ride until now and there is a lot of dirt in McCain’s past as far as having an affair on his previous wife who was bedridden with a young 25 year old Cindy at the time.
It was so funny, on the day of the story, all the Republican talking heads and Republican talk radio host were on high alert.
They spent a whole day on the offensive about McCain instead of talking their usual trash.
If swift boaters were wrong, then why did Kerry throw his medals away?
If one party tells a lie then is it okay to retaliate with a lie?
The real truth is John McCain truly was in a POW camp, and all of the people who are informed know this, whether they are Democrats or Republicans. Hints or gossip about affairs within the last 28 years are totally false, he has explained his past. He did not hide it. So what else is new?
Todays scripture:
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

This “affair” is a perfect opportunity for Republicans to rally around McCain. McCain has already stated that money is pouring in now and a lot of it came in right after the Times article.
It’s a serious mistake by the Times.
Republicans do two things EXTREMELY well – they attack, and they play the victim card. The Times played right into the republicans hands with this story.
“SERIOUSLY” I think everything about the NY Times is Unfair & Disgusting.
Until the article can show proof (like a Blue Dress) or actually say who their sources are, then I will take it for what it is, something worthy of The National Enquirer. At least the swift boat vets actually stood up to be counted and didn’t remain anonymous.
The journalistic qualities of the New York Times is now in the gutter.
The issue has little to do with politics and mostly about the quality of journalism and its sources.
The Swift Boat issue is apples and oranges. Separate group, not a reporter claiming facts without solid sources.
It doesn’t matter if the object is GOP or DEM or Carol Burnett. Yellow journalism is trash. That’s the issue. They might as well have talked about martians invading the bodies of NASCAR drivers. Fodder. Nothing more.
So what does buying into this stuff say about us as a reasonable society?
