Do you get deployed to a certain part of the world if you are stationed at a base in a certain region?

I am going into the Army and have started to think about where I want to choose to be stationed. I was thinking I would like to be somewhere in the Rocky Mountains or west coast because I would like to do some camping and backpacking in my free time when I am not deployed. I am from northern Indiana and haven’t really been out of the state except for a couple of times, I would love to see some beautiful scenery the mountain have to offer. Also I would like to see Europe for that matter. I am more than likely going in the Army for mos 11bravo which is infantry if this matters, and I’m sure I will see plenty. I have heard from one of my fellow future soldiers that his dad said that if you are stationed on the west coast you are more likely to get deployed to areas across the Pacific, and that if you are stationed on the east coast you are more likely to get deployed to Europe and across the Atlantic. I don’t know if that’s how it used to work or still works. Does anyone have some information or knowledge that may help me make my decision?

First of all you might not get the base you want to be at, you can put the bases you want on your dream sheet, but they will stick you where ever they need you most, and that also goes for my “second of all” they will deploy you to where they need you most, but it also depend on your job as well!!!! Not all bases have the same exact job, take my Hubby for example, he is “Egress” he does the ejection seat for the fighter jets, now of course we’re Air Force so of course there is pretty much jets at every AF base, so we CAN go to any base around the world! But the only way my Hubby was able to get the base we wanted was for him to do a year tour to Korea!!! I hope this helped!
