Do you think we can handle the Catskills?

Me and my friends are going on a camping-hiking trip to the tallest mountains in the Catskill mountain rage in New York. The highest is 4,200 ft tall. There are 3 mountains and the hikes are do-able but they have a lot of rocks. Do you think some 17 year old kids can climb all three without any complaints or problems? I mean I’m all for it, but about my friends they may not be as pain-resistant as me.

sure you can
that will be some tough climbs but as long as you get some rest in between it should not be a problem have fun and go at the slowest mans pace remember some times the turtle wins.
How experienced are you guys? I find hiking is more mental than physical. Its experience that allows you to overcome the mental obstacles and exhaustion.
Well, it depends on the terrain, and the friends. Is everyone in fairly good shape? Because the rock sounds more like a scramble (off trail) than a hike. Make sure you leave lots of time for resting on the trip regardless, things are always more enjoyable if you are well rested. Also be sure everyone knows what they are getting into before embarking on this trip, and make sure they agree to it. I doubt there will be any problems, especially if the highest peak is at only 4,000 feet. The complaints however – I promise you nothing there.
Most of the trails are do-able, but you have to have the right mind-set and be prepared to deal with mud and a lot of loose rock. There are a bunch of tricky sections on all of those trails. Prior experience on less challenging trails is normally something I encourage one to have before taking on more challenging terrain. I doubt that any of those trails would cause you or anyone in your party to encounter severe danger, but if your friends aren’t really into hiking to begin with, it’s best to not drag them along. It sounds to me as though you have doubts. You know your friends better than we do, so it’s gotta be your call.
Personally, I feel if you have to ask this question, then the answer is “no” they shouldn’t be going with you.
