Does anyone have any suggestions for an adventurous summer trip in New York state(not NYC)for a young couple?

We take a short summer trip every year, usually camping someplace and enjoying the local attractions. We haven’t decided on our trip for this summer yet, and are looking for some fresh ideas. Thanks! :)

    I’ve been all over upstate NY. Consider a trip out to Niagara Falls. Lake George or Lake Placid are good camping spots, or the thousand Islands depending on how far you want to drive. The New York State Fair at Syracuse. A day at West Point can be fun. Hope this gives you some ideas.

    How about camping at Thousand Islands in the St Lawrence River?
    It’s fun, pretty, you can go into Canada for a day trip, you can visit Boldt Castle (which was a wreck when I visited as a kid but looks remodeled and cool now), and you can do all the fun camping and nature things there.

    Also, Saratoga is fantastic when the horse racing is on, and has great restaurants and bars with music. You might see some horses that competed in the big Triple Crown races like the Kentucky Derby. It might be booked up for camping during the racing season, but you might be able to find a spot close by in Lake George (which is also fun in its own right) or any of the other state parks nearby. There’s a great place to see big concerts too at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. http://www.saratoga.com/

    You could also look at camping in Berkshire County, MA which is where I’m from originally. OK, not NY but it’s right next to NY. Great music scene in the bars and at festivals all summer long, it’s gorgeous, and has mountains, lakes, scenery, and Tanglewood as well as playhouses if you want to enjoy the arts. Many cute little towns to poke around in too, and tons of places to camp. http://www.berkshires.org/ and check out Split the Atom on Facebook for local music events (they will all be great, I promise!)

    Have a great time on your summer vacation

    I would suggest you to go for fishing trips as you are willing to have an adventurous summer trip. I am sure that nothing can give you that thrill other than fishing while you will be out on the open water. While going through the destination I got some links. I am attaching them. Hope you will be benefited;
