Going camping, does Aspen wood burn?

Okay, Aspen’s grow like weeds here in Colorado so we have a supply of dried Aspen.

We are going camping for the holiday weekend, does anybody know if Aspen wood burns well?

If it is dry it will burn fine.

It’s not as efficient for use in a wood burning stove in your home but the availability of it makes it great for camp/bonfires. Also the bark has a unique and great smell as an air freshener. Try it !

I believe the Colorado Aspen wood is fireproof. They use it on the space shuttle to protect it on re-entry. You`re probably better off making toothpicks out of it. It wont burn, especially if its really dry and well woody.

(I think these questions get more ridiculous as time goes on. Does wood burn? C`mon now use your brain a little, some woods takes longer to burn completely- hardwoods- ie oak, others will only take minutes soft woods- ie pine. But in the end all wood burns.)
