Heard about a house bought for a 1000 bucks?
A friend of my brothers bought a house in a small town in western Kansas for a 1000 dollars. No gem of course, plumbings messed up and you have to go across the street to use the bathrooms at the park. My brother used to work with the guy and he used the house as a sort of hunting lodge so they were not camping in the sticks.
Unfortunately the guy lost his job and moved away and my brother has no contact with him anymore. Now I realize that maybe he knew somebody to get a deal like that, but man would I like to get something like that. I have found some pretty inexpensive houses online. as cheap as 7k but wow I would really really like to get a deal like that. and according to alot of people around here Houses in small dying towns are going really really cheaply.
My question is, how do I find out about these houses, does anyone know anyone who is letting a house go cheap ? In my imagination I would see someone who maybe inherited a house in some town with no jobs that would be happy to be rid of it , but I don’t know. Never paid much attention to realestate, so any advice or thoughts would be warmly recieved.

There are houses that cost $0.09 dollars a lot better than that one. Usually, to get information on those kind of houses, you need to be under “government connections”.
Look at HUD foreclosures. Some places are selling houses for $100 but they have many conditions usually like moving in almost immediately, being owner occupied for a certain number of years, requiring extensive repairs.. Remember in the financial world “there is no such thing as a free lunch” and there is almost always a reason why the item is cheap.
