How hard is it to replace the flooring in a 03′ Coleman Caravan Camping Trailer?

want to buy the camper, just wondering how hard it will be to replace the flooring. It is soggy, and needs to be replaced down the frame… hard?

The flooring goes underneath all of the cabinetry and is wall to wall. To properly replace it you will have to remove everything down to the frame and at that point you might as well do a total rebuild which makes it a job on the scale of 1 to 10 for a novice about an 8. Unless it has sentimental value I wouldn’t buy it. Too many good deals out there for good condition used colman camping trailers. Yahoo groups has a camping group about tent trailers and such, check them out they have a lot of helpful info. I did and they helped me a lot.

Sometimes it is possible to lay a new floor over the top of the old one, that’s not very difficult to do. If the problem is just weakness in the sub-flooring material, you can lay new sub-floor over the top. If the problem is in the supporting joists then the trailer is junk. I’ve re-built several.

The floor is the FIRST thing put on the frame!
To replace, EVERYTHING needs to come off.

    Buy a different unit!!!!
