How’s the fishing in Maine?

My uncle, aunt and I are going camping in Maine in mid-July and we plan to do a lot of fishing. We’ll be staying in a campground about 20 miles south of Moosehead Lake. I want to know how the fishing is up around those parts. I’d like to hit not only the lake itself but all the ponds and streams around it. I like to use artificial lures, so if you have any suggestions I’m all ears.

i just camped at Lily Bay state park which is on the east side of moosehead lake..i had no luck in the lake itself next to my campsite but i was able to catch some trout on the west side of the lake near the town of rockwood–there are 2 popular outlet streams flowing out of moosehead near there, one is called West Outlet and you can see it right on the road, there is a dam people park at and fish right under the dam…on the east side near lily bay is a pond called Prong Pond which is supoosedly really good but i didnt have a chance to fish it–i saw plenty of guys fishing there so it does look good
