i heard about NYFA film academy, should i spend this much on learning to act? read on if you can…………?

my whole life i wanted to be an actor for my job. not theatre wise but big screen wise. i have no experience and im 18, and i live in a state with like no movie auditons so i heard about NYFA film academy. its about 3,000 dollars for 3 weeks of acting training, is it worth 3,000? the site is http://www.nyfa.com/summer_camp/programs/filmmaking/dates.html#unionsq
or should i just join an acting school? if so, does anyone know of an acting school or acting coaches in maine? because NYFA is in ny and thats the closet thing to acting for me, because maine doesnt have anything(at least, not many that i know of, unless someone can please show me otherwise) so please, let me know, thanks alot wish me luck on my acting dreamjob career, take care

First of all, decide whether you would like to go into theater or film/tv. Once you know which one of those find out if money is an issue

If cost is not a deciding factor and your interested in film/tv, then possibly look into summer school classes at UCLA so you can get a taste of the actual city where all the big movies happen, if your more interested in theater/broadway then check out NYFA.

If you go onto the NYFA website you can order a free catalogue about the summer school classes, its totally free (i have one) and it gives you detailed info about ALL their classes

    goooood luck!

staying “NYFA film academy” is redundant, the FA in NYFA is film academy.

having said that, if the reviews for the academy are positive and shows they produce results and the fact that acting is your dream job/career i see few possible objections. if you have the money to spend and will not leave yourself broke, passing up this opportunity may hang over you for years.
