I live in the Chattanoga area, and I have camped and Hiked in many area around here, I am just interested in new area nearby. I dont mind hiking many miles so if the spot is down a long trail then I would love to hike for a while. I plan on taking a trip with my roomates for about a week, and my goal is to hike 10-20 miles a day.
The last trip we went on was in Quetico, up in Minnesota, but that was too long of a drive so thats why we are lokking for a closer spot.

The Appalachian Trail. Google it. (trails.com)
if you haven’t been there already (or maybe even if you have), i would suggest one of the many areas around asheville, NC.
mt.mitchell and surrounding areas are awesome. clifton gorge is supposed to be epic (haven’t made it yet). there are too many trails around to list (plenty to last a week); just get on the blue ridge parkway and pick one. here’s a website i found helpful while planning my trip there–great info on hikes & pictures: http://www.hikewnc.info/trailheads/index.htm
if you’re looking for something you can spend the whole week doing; check out the Mountians-to-Sea-Trail (also in NC). it offers a great mix of scenery (mountains to coastline). i don’t know if you could do the whole thing, but you could pick a weeklong stretch and hoof it.
good luck wherever you go.
