Montreal and around is great to learn French. French in Quebec’s province/Canada is usually more “international” than Paris. Camps and life are a lot cheaper here in Quebec too and people are really friendly. But I guess you will have more choices in Paris (that is about 5 times bigger than Montreal).
I found another one maybe interesting, 1 hour from Montreal : http://www.wilvaken.com/ – Not a French camp but a bilingual camp. Maybe more interesting and less stress for a 9 year’s old little boy
